The Infinity Pro SL Light;

The light, which is correctly tuned to the optimal wavelength and which has the highest energy output of any light, accelerates the whitening process by activating the photosensitive Whitening Gel.

Our Process

Step 1

If you brush your teeth prior to your appointment please brush them gently to avoid gum irritation during the treatment.

The procedure is very simple. First, we assist the customer to use a shade guide to determine the current shade of the teeth. The shade is noted to compare the before and after results.  Then the customer places a cheek retractor into the mouth.

Step 2

Second, using a brush the gel is applied by easily brushing the photosensitive whitening gel onto the outer surfaces of the teeth. This means the gel is only applied to the teeth and not to the gums, which avoids teeth sensitivity and gum irritation. Our teeth whitening gel utilizes peroxide-based chemistry, specifically called Hydrogen Peroxide. The teeth whitening gel is Hydrogen Peroxide in a viscous water-based food-grade gel. This means that the whitening gel hydrates the teeth throughout the whitening procedure. Hydration of the teeth is important because that is what prevents sensitivity.

Step 3

Professional whitening is best performed with light technology. Light technology is referred to as photo-polymerization and was first approved by the FDA for teeth whitening in 1996. The Infinity™ Pro SL is a LED lamp that uses a cold blue light tuned to a wavelength of 480-500 nanometers. The light technology system works by accelerating the chemical reaction, rapidly speeding up the treatment time. During a treatment, the accelerator light is placed directly in front of the customer's open mouth for the duration of the process. The Infinity™ Pro SL uses the perfect wavelength of light and is designed to accelerate the whitening process of our teeth whitening gel.

Step 4

We use peroxide-based chemistry. Peroxide compounds are able to whiten teeth through a process called oxidation. Peroxide has the ability to slightly penetrate the inner aspect of the enamel within a matter of only a few minutes after application where there are complex organic molecules within the tooth that reflect a specific wavelength of light and are responsible for the color.

It has been shown that by releasing free radicals, peroxide has the ability to oxidize the color-producing organic compounds found within the enamel's organic make-up. When these organic compounds are oxidized, the resulting oxidized molecules reflect a different wavelength of light. They are now a different color, which is perceived as whiter teeth!

This process can improve the shade of teeth by 2 to 15 shades depending on the genetic shade of the teeth, degree of stains, and daily habits. Sometimes more sessions are needed to get the results you desire. Usually, there will be a noticeable improvement in the shade of the teeth which will be evident after re-shading the teeth with the shade guide. This is the most fun part of the process for us because our customers are so happy with their results.
